1. Who we are

This website is operated by StartHub Asia (“StartHub Asia”, “we”, “us”), Room 3, 10/F, Kwan Chart Tower, 6 Tonnochy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong. We are the data user responsible for personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@starthubasia.com.

2. What we collect

• Information you give us through enquiry and project brief forms: name, work email, phone number, company, role, website address, project requirements, budget and timeline, and any details you choose to add (including deployment, industry, data volume, user count and compliance information for Private AI enquiries).
• Communications you send us by email, messaging apps or during meetings.
• Technical data automatically generated when you browse: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring page.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data (such as identity card numbers, financial account details or health data) through this website. Please do not include them in a form.

3. Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal or quotation.
• To deliver and support services you engage us for.
• To send service updates and, where you have agreed, relevant marketing.
• To improve our website, content and service offering.
• To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

We rely on your consent (given when you tick the consent box on a form) and on our legitimate business interest in responding to enquiries and running our business.

4. Marketing and direct contact

We only use your contact details for direct marketing if you have agreed. You may withdraw consent at any time, at no cost, by emailing info@starthubasia.com with the subject line “Opt out”. We will stop using your data for marketing on receipt.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, under confidentiality obligations — for example our website host and form delivery provider, email and productivity providers, and analytics providers. Data may be processed on servers outside Hong Kong; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable level of protection. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies: essential ones that make the site work, an optional translation widget (Google Translate) that stores your chosen language, and analytics that help us understand how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functionality may be affected.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you become a client — in which case we keep records for the duration of the engagement and for 7 years afterwards to meet accounting and legal requirements. After that it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — encrypted transmission, access controls and need-to-know access — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Your rights

Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask whether we hold data about you, request a copy, request correction of inaccurate data, and withdraw consent to direct marketing. Send requests to info@starthubasia.com. We respond within 40 days and may charge a reasonable fee for copies, as permitted by law.

10. Children

This website and our services are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version, and continued use of the website means you accept the updated policy.
